Este trabalho tem como objetivo contrapor duas hipóteses acerca do processo de criação literária de Lygia Fagundes Telles (LFT). A primeira hipótese surge a partir da leitura apurada da obra da escritora e da relativização de alguns aspectos da fortuna crítica que cerca sua obra. Ainda sobre essa hipótese, ela se encontra nas seções intituladas “Bagagem” e “Verificação da bagagem” desta dissertação. A segunda hipótese, por sua vez, surge através do exame de algumas passagens de quatro livros de LFT, livros em que a escritora fornece detalhes sobre sua arte, sobre seu escrever; enfim, volumes em que um verdadeiro metadiscurso de criação se esboça. Esses livros são A disciplina do amor (1980), Invenção e memória (2000), Durante aquele estranho chá (2002), e Conspiração de nuvens (2007). Quanto a essa segunda hipótese, ela ganha contornos nítidos na seção “Destino”. Em “Hospedagem”, trata-se do viés teórico que ampara o presente estudo, isto é, a Literatura Comparada e a Crítica Genética. A mencionada contraposição de hipóteses encontra-se em “Destino”. Boa parcela das nossas considerações é resgatada e resumida na última seção, “Retorno”. / This work seeks to oppose two hypotheses concerned with the literary creation process of Lygia Fagundes Telles (LFT). The first hypothesis arises from the refined reading of this writer’s works and from the relativization of some aspects found in the wealth of critical material surrounding her work. The sections in the present dissertation dedicated to this hypothesis are “Bagagem” (Baggage) and “Verificação da bagagem” (Verification of the baggage). The second hypothesis arises through the examination of some passages found in four books by LFT, in which the writer provides details about her art, her writing; ultimately, in these volumes, a true metadiscourse about creation is laid out. These books are A disciplina do amor (1980), Invenção e memória (2000), Durante aquele estanho chá (2002), and Conspiração de nuvens (2007). This second hypothesis receives clear outlines in section “Destino” (Destiny). In “Hospedagem” (Accommodation), the theoretical segments that support this study are presented; namely, Comparative Literature and Genetic Criticism. The aforementioned comparison of hypotheses is presented in “Destino”. A great part of our considerations is presented again and summarized in the last section, “Retorno” (Return).
