Inom bilbranchen är produktkonfguratorer, där användaren själv kan sätta samman din bil utifrån möjliga val, en tjänst som återkommer hos de festa biltillverkare. Många av konfguratorerna bygger idag på en teknik och ett föde som innebär begränsningar i fexibilitet och användbarhet. En ny teknisk lösning håller på att arbetas fram och innebär möjligheten att vidare förbättra både användbarhet och föde, vilket föranlett detta arbete. Genom att att undersöka användbarheten med hänsyn till användarens mål och den totala upplevelsen kunde således en rad möjliga förbättringsområden identiferas. Dessa ledde sedan till ett antal förslag på alternativa lösningar som hade för avsikt att skapa ett bättre föde och därmed en bättre användarupplevelse. De alternativa lösningarna ledde sedan till en prototyp som kunde testas för att undersöka hur de bidragit till ett bättre föde. Resultatet visar att det, genom utvecklingen av en ny teknisk lösning, fnns utrymme för att förbättra födet i konfguratorer och de alternativ som presenteras visar på möjligheten att använda mer fexibel och användarstyrd navigation, samt förslag på hur kan presentera val som inte är visuella. / Te product confgurator, where the user/ customer can modify the car based on predefned options, has become a staple on most automobile manufacturers websites. Many of the confgurators are built on a fow and technical framwork that somewhat limits the fexibility and usability of the confgurator. A new technical solution is being worked that presents the opportunity to further improve both the usability and fow, which is the reason for this paper. By exploring the usability and the fow in regards to the overall experience and user goals, I was able to identify a number of possible improvement areas. Tese fndings led to a number of possible alternative solutions with the intention of creating a better fow and thus a better user experience. Tese alternative solutions further led to a prototype that could be tested in order to see how the alternative solutions contributed to a better fow. Te result shows that there is, with the development of a new technical solution, room to improve the fow of confgurators. Te options presented show the possibility of using a more fexible and user-driven navigation, along with suggestions on how to present options that are not visual.
