Previous issue date: 2006 / Resumo: Com o intuito de entender as circunstâncias através das quais os vínculos entre sujeitos e livros são construídos ao longo do processo escolar de formação de leitores, esta pesquisa dedicou-se a investigar os determinantes de algumas práticas em torno da leitura nos contextos em que se produzem as relações entre sujeitos e textos, especialmente no interior das escolas e bibliotecas escolares. Em seu desenrolar, esta pesquisa buscou criar pontes entre estudos relevantes acerca da leitura e da formação de leitores, procurando apresentar e discutir as circunstâncias em que se realizam o contato e a convivência entre sujeitos e textos nos espaços de formação de leitores, com o objetivo de melhor compreendermos a que se prestam as políticas públicas de leitura, as práticas escolares voltadas à formação de leitores e os ritos culturais em torno do livro e das formas de ler, deslindando as reais condições em que se dá a construção das relações entre leitores e livros na escola pública estadual. A percepção dos aspectos circunstanciais em que se desenrolam os papéis das políticas públicas de fomento ao livro e à leitura, bem como os da escola, da biblioteca e do professor é fundamental para a ampliação do universo de conhecimentos acerca das práticas escolares de formação de leitores e possibilitará outras reflexões sobre as relações entre os sujeitos e a cultura, através da leitura e dentro da escola, aqui abordada enquanto um espaço no qual leitores e leituras aprendem a conviver; o que implica a necessidade de se investir tanto no desenvolvimento objetivo das competências e habilidades necessárias à leitura, quanto no envolvimento subjetivo entre leitores e livros / Abstract: Intending to understand the relationship between readers and books, this research has investigated some reading issues related to circumstantial aspects of the formation of readers. Through the analysis of the circumstances of reading practices at school and library, we argue the construction of the involvement bounds between people and cultural products. In the development of this research, we searched to create bridges between theoretical studies concerning to reading and formation of readers, trying to present and discuss the circumstances that the involvement between subjects and books are produced in the scholar context. The objective of this research is to understand the utility and function of public politics of reading in Brazil, the effects of traditional practices of reading to the students of Brazilian public schools, and the cultural rites around the book and the forms of reading, defining the real conditions where the construction of the relations between readers and books happens. The perception of the circumstantial aspects where the public politics related to books, reading and formation of readers are realized, as well the real conditions where the public school, libraries and teachers playing their roles is important to amplify the universe of knowledge concerning the formation of readers pertaining to school. This study is a reflection about the relations between people and culture, through the reading and inside of the school, here boarded while a space in which readers and readings learn coexisting; what it implies the necessity of investing in the objective development of the necessary abilities to the reading and the subjective involvement between readers and books / Mestrado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Mestre em Educação
