Lärarlönelyftet i Sveriges kommuner : En kvantitativ studie över kommunstyrets påverkan på fördelningen av lärarlönelyftet

In 2016 the former gorvernment decided to increase the wage for specificly skilled teachers in order to deal with decreasing results and to strengthen the attractivety of the profession. This paper examines the relation between the political ruling in municipalitys in sweden and the ways these implemented the reform, called teachers pay rise. Some local governments chosed differentiated model while others provided a unitary amount to all teacher who fulfilled the criteria. The results from regressionanalysis show that the relation between the variables are more noticable in local governments who rules with a majority than others. both liberal and socialistic goverments was guided by their political ideology. Furthermore the results indicate that local politicians are influenced by their ideology when implementing the reform. Liberal governed municipalities more frequently provided larger variation in wage rise than socialistic municipalities. The implications of the results are interessting since the status of the Swedish model can be questioned and if school policies should be a political arena for local politicians.
