Orientador: Enrique Amayo Zevallos / Coorientador: Edmundo Antonio Peggion / Banca: Silvia Beatriz Adoue / Banca: Samuel de Jesus / Resumo: Dentre diversos temas de destaque elaborados pelo intelectual e militante peruano José Carlos Mariátegui (1894-1930) evidencia-se sua admirável capacidade de articular diferentes âmbitos da vida em sociedade como a dimensão subjetiva e espiritual das lutas sociais. Tais aspectos evidentes em Mariátegui são também características latentes nos princípios fundantes da Teologia da Libertação, movimento sócio religioso nascido na América Latina entre as décadas de 1960 a 1970. É possível identificar em ambos características de um pensamento religioso que articulado ao referencial teórico metodológico marxista, serve de inspiração a orientação de práticas sociais capazes de unir diversos setores populares rumo a luta pela conquista de direitos sociais, e, consequentemente, por uma sociedade mais justa e igualitária. Diante dessa constatação, esta pesquisa estuda a "religiosidade e mito" em Mariátegui, articulada a sua proposta revolucionária, e a compara à possíveis afinidades desses conceitos com os pressupostos centrais da Teologia da Libertação. Nossa hipótese assenta-se na premissa de que as ideias de Mariategui sobre religiosidade oferecem diversos pontos de contatos instigantes na comparação com o movimento cristão da Teologia da Libertação. A pesquisa leva em conta os contornos do cenário histórico do tempo em que o escritor tratou do tema da religião nos anos 1920, período marcado pelo desenvolvimento do marxismo no continente latino americano. Espera-se assim uma demonstração da forma especial em que ambos realizam a fusão entre religião e política e que é manifesto em seus escritos revelando, simultaneamente, a suas inserções na problemática histórica de seus tempos / Abstract: Among several featured themes developed by the intellectual and militant Peruvian José Carlos Mariátegui (1894-1930) his admirable ability to articulate the different aspects of life in society as the subjective and spiritual dimension of social struggles is evident. These aspects are also evident in Mariátegui latent features in the founding principles of the Theology of Liberation, religious social movement born in Latin America between the decades of 1960 and 1970. You can identify both characteristics of a religious thought, that articulated with the Marxist methodological theoretical framework, inspires the guidance of social practices that unite several popular sectors towards the struggle for social rights, and therefore, for a more just equal society. Given this finding, this research studies the "religiousness and myth" in Mariátegui, articulated with his revolutionary proposal and compares it to the possible affinities of these concepts with the central assumptions of the Theology of Liberation. Our hypothesis is based on the premise that Mariategui's ideas about religiousness offer different points of instigating contacts in comparison with the Christian movement of the Theology of Liberation.
