The study aims to investigate social workers' experiences of cooperation with schools. The study is based on examining how social workers describe the school and school staff, as well as how social workers believe the school perceives them, in order to identify perceptions of each institution. Through this, factors that can inhibit and promote collaboration have been discovered. The theoretical approach of the study has been Serge Moscovici's theory of social representations and has been conducted using thematic analysis.The empirical material has been collected through semi-structured interviews with six social workers and two first social workers. The results reveal that there are several ideas and representations that the social workers have about the schools. Additionally, there are descriptions of what the social workers perceive school staff believe and think about them. These beliefs and representations are both positive and negative in nature and they have been summarized into five main themes and two sub-themes: School staff are ignorant and emotional, High frustration and low authority: the social workers experiences with the sub-theme confidentiality inhibits and promotes, Different missions and perspectives, Us and them with the sub-theme The school´s view on relationships with the parents, and finally Social workers share experiences. There is a need for further research on the subject, where the theory of social representations is seen as useful. The study discusses the importance of additional research and provides tips, ideas, and thoughts for this purpose. / Studien syftar till att undersöka socialsekreterares upplevelser av samverkan med skolan. Studien grundar sig i att undersöka hur socialsekreterare beskriver skolan och skolpersonalen samt hur socialsekreterare tror att skolan upplever dem, för att på så sätt identifiera föreställningar om respektive institution. Genom detta upptäcks faktorer som kan hämma och främja samverkan. Studiens teoretiska ansats har bestått av Serge Moscovicis teori om sociala representationer och har genomförts med hjälp utav en tematisk analys. Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom semistrukturerade intervjuer där sex socialsekreterare och två förste socialsekreterare har deltagit. Det framkommer i resultatet att det finns ett flertal föreställningar och representationer som socialsekreterarna har om skolan. Dessutom framkommer det beskrivningar om vad socialsekreterarna upplever att skolpersonalen tror och tänker om dem. Dessa föreställningar och representationer är av både positiv och negativ karaktär, och har sammanfattats i fem huvudteman och två underteman: Skolpersonal är okunniga och emotionella, Hög frustration och låga befogenheter: socialsekreterarnas upplevelser med undertemat sekretessen hämmar och främjar, Skilda uppdrag och perspektiv, Vi och dom med undertemat Skolans syn på föräldrarelation och till sist Socialsekreterare delar upplevelser. Det finns ett behov av fortsatt forskning om ämnet, där teorin om sociala representationer ses som användbart. I studien diskuteras vikten av ytterligare forskning och ger tips, idéer och tankar till detta.
