I det här projektet analyseras huset Röken, uppe på det Småländska höglandet, en plats med mycket historia. Från 1600-talet då en bräcklig fred gör att huset byggs till då huset moderniseras under mitten av 1900-talet och blir inrett med många möbler från Ab Svenska möbelfabrikerna, som bara låg några kilometer från platsen. Detta leder fram till en undersökning av familjen som äger huset och till Jan Strand, min far, idag den enda permanent boende där. Projektet har mynnat ut i möbeln “Beach” avsedd att användas då Jan i ensamhet njuter av jazzmusik uppe i sin sons rum. / In this project the house Röken, up on the Småland highlands is analyzed, a place with a lot of history. From the 17th century when a fragile peace is the reson the house is built to when the house is modernized in the middle of the 20th centur and gets decorated with many furniture from AB Svenska möbelfabrikerna, that had its factory just a few miles away.This leads into a research about the family that owns the house today and to Jan Strand, my father, who is the only one living in the house. The project has produced the furniture “Beach”, which is meant for use by Jan when he is flipping through his Jazz collection.
