Previous issue date: 2009-03-07 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The process of education of subjects - children, youth and adults living in rural areas of the
municipalities located in semi-arid of Paraiba is wrapped in a context of natural
difficulties, social and economic. However, the people know it stands in overcoming the
problems faced by the population. The investigations were in the rural municipality of São
José de Piranhas - PB at microregion backlands paraibano with a group of individuals
composed of participating farmers / residents in the area. In semi-structured interviews and
informal conversations, the contents of the diary transcribed speech enabled understanding
of the process of exclusion from school in which they emerged and understanding of the
continuity of the educational process and the importance of knowledge in these popular
courses. Analysis of data indicate the existence of the educational gap in the rural area of
the semi-arid, which is related to many different and varied aspects including the failure of
proposals and educational actions directed to the area. The process of education of many
individuals who now live in rural areas is related to the uncertainties of starting,
continuing and further education with a thriving career in search of a future professional
achievement, or have a guaranteed right skills and professional skills. The investigative
work subject to the semi-arid of Paraiba possible to verify the knowledge / education to
learn the popular and the community, with much more effective analytical potential as
greater concerns of managers and public educational institutions with the education of
these subjects. / O processo de escolarização dos sujeitos crianças, jovens e adultos - que vivem nas áreas
rurais dos municípios localizados no semiárido paraibano, acontece em um contexto de
dificuldades naturais, sociais e econômicas. No entanto, o saber popular se sobressai na
superação dos problemas enfrentados pela população. As investigações ocorreram na zona
rural do município de São José de Piranhas - PB, localizado na microrregião do sertão
paraibano, com um grupo de sujeitos participantes composto por agricultores/as residentes
na área. Nas entrevistas semiestruturadas e nas conversas informais, o conteúdo das falas
transcritas no caderno possibilitou o entendimento do processo de exclusão escolar no qual
estão emersos e a compreensão da continuidade do processo educacional, bem como a
importância do saber popular nessas trajetórias. Os resultados da análise de dados indicam
a existência de defasagem educacional na área rural do semiárido paraibano, a qual se
relaciona aos mais diversos e variados aspectos, entre eles, a insuficiência das propostas e
das ações educacionais voltadas para a área. O processo de escolarização de muitos
sujeitos que hoje vivem nas áreas rurais está relacionado às incertezas de iniciar, continuar
e prosseguir com uma carreira educacional próspera, em busca de uma realização
profissional futura, ou de ter garantido por direitas aptidões e habilidades profissionais. O
trabalho investigativo com sujeitos do semiárido paraibano possibilita verificar o
saber/fazer educativo do saber popular e da coletividade, com potencial analítico bem mais
eficaz tanto quanto maiores forem as preocupações dos gestores públicos e das instituições
educacionais com a escolarização desses sujeitos.
