Tomten vi tilldelades till detta projekt ligget belägen i Solna, i korningen Gustafsvägen och Charlottenburgsvägen, på en höjd precis mellan Råsundavägen och Frösundaleden. Tomten ligger i ett lugnt villaområde som uppfattas som lugnt och skyddat trots närheten till trafiken och innerstaden. Jag hade tidigt en tanke om att arbeta med öppna ytor och med hjälp av olika nivåer dela upp de gemensamma rummen på flera höjder och skapa en lätt och tydligt flöde emellan dem. Jag valde att placera de gemensamma rummen i mitten av byggnaden och låta de olika avdelningarna och andra privata utrymmen grena ut och tillsammans med matsalen rama in den gemensamma gården för att skapa en lugn, skyddad plats där barnen kan leka i lugn och ro. En del av konceptet i detta projekt har varit en idé om att kommunikationen i byggnaden ska vara någonting mer en endast kommunikation, därför utformades trappan mellan rörelserummet och ateljén till en plats för både kommunikation, samling och lek. De gemensamma rummen blir viktiga knytpunkter och en mötesplats där barnen i olika åldrar kan leka tillsammans och knyta kontakter mellan avdelningarna, därför kändes det viktigt att skapa ett tydligt flöde mellan de gemensamma ytorna där barnen kan interagera med varandra. / The site we were allocated to this project is located in Solna, the grain no Gustafsvägen and Charlottenburg road, on a hill just between Råsundavägen and Frösundaleden. The plot is located in a quiet residential area that is perceived as calm and protected despite the short distance to traffic and inner city. Early in the project I had an idea of working with open space and using different levels to divide the common rooms in several heights and create an clear flow between them. I chose to place the common rooms in the center of the building and allow the different departments and other private areas branch out and, together with the dining room frame the common farm to create a quiet, sheltered place where children can play during the day whitoud being distracted. Part of the concept of this project was the idea of communication in the building should be something more only a communication, therefore, I choosed to designe the staircase between the gymnastic room and the studio into a place for communication, gathering the children and play. The common rooms are important meeting places where children of all ages can play together and make connections between departments, therefore, it felt important to create a clear flow between the common surfaces where children can interact with each other.
