Previous issue date: 2017-07-24 / Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) / Introdução: A missão da Cochrane é promover a tomada de decisões de saúde com base em evidências de produção de alta qualidade chamadas de revisões sistemáticas (RSs). As RSs são geradas por mais de 31.000 colaboradores de mais de 120 países, sem fins lucrativos sendo livre de patrocínio comercial e outros conflitos de interesse. Em janeiro de 2014 no Brasil, a Cochrane com intuito de aumentar a capacidade de traduzir os conteúdos das revisões do inglês para a Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa, aprovou uma estratégia de tradução completa para fortalecer o impacto da melhor evidência disponível nesses países. Para atingir este objetivo, a Cochrane convidou a Unidade de Medicina Baseada em Evidências da UNESP, cadastrada no Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), para implementar uma plataforma de conhecimento referente às traduções de resumos de revisões sistemáticas da Colaboração Cochrane no idioma português. Objetivo: Tornar acessível no idioma português as melhores evidências (i.e. revisões sistemáticas), em Anestesiologia e nas outras áreas em Ciências da Saúde, para a Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa sobre a efetividade, eficácia e segurança de vários tratamentos, bem como, sensibilidade e especificidade de testes diagnósticos permitindo assim um melhor acesso as informações de alta qualidade nesses países e, contribuindo para o êxito da missão da Colaboração Cochrane e seus objetivos estratégicos, por meio da implementação de um esquema de plataforma de conhecimento. Métodos: Estudo de investigação operacional. Este projeto de pesquisa, denominado Saúde em Sua Língua (SSL), foi conduzido por uma equipe composta por quaisquer profissionais da saúde (e.g. médicos, enfermeiros, fisioterapeutas, farmacêuticos), independente da instituição de vínculo, com intuito de participar voluntariamente do projeto, fluentes do idioma português e, com habilidade em escrever no idioma inglês. Foram traduzidos resumos e resumos de linguagem simples (i.e. plain language summary) de revisões sistemáticas completas da Colaboração Cochrane e publicadas na base de dados the Cochrane Library. Os pesquisadores colaboradores de diferentes áreas de atuação da saúde foram responsáveis por traduzir parte do conteúdo das revisões sistemáticas. Resultados: Foram realizadas e publicadas 298 traduções dos resumos e os resumos de linguagem simples (plain language) das revisões sistemáticas dos grupos colaborativos da Colaboração Cochrane. Foram cadastrados 107 colaboradores de diferentes instituições, mas somente 52 realizaram efetivamente as traduções. A maioria das traduções realizadas foi do grupo Cochrane de Anestesiologia (14%, n=42) seguido do grupo Stroke (8,3%, n=25). Os discentes realizaram 76,1% das traduções do grupo Cochrane de Anestesiologia. Entre os colaboradores da categoria discente, os da pósgraduação em Anestesiologia da FMB/UNESP (n=15) apresentaram maior contribuição quando comparado aos pós-graduandos dos demais programas envolvidos (n=6). Os alunos do programa de pós-graduação em Anestesiologia da FMB/UNESP realizaram 90 traduções e os pós-graduandos dos demais programas realizaram um total de 19 traduções. A subespecialidade da Anestesiologia que apresentou maior número de traduções foi a Anestesiologia geral n=22 (52,3%). Conclusão: Este estudo mostrou que o processo de implementação de um esquema de plataforma de conhecimento é executável para tornar acessível no idioma português as melhores evidências (i.e. revisões sistemáticas), em Anestesiologia e em outras áreas da Ciência da saúde, para a Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa. Aos anestesiologistas as traduções realizadas nessa área contribuirão com a ampla divulgação das revisões sistemáticas publicadas pelo grupo colaborativo de Anestesiologia da Cochrane, aumentando a visibilidade desses estudos e sua disseminação aos interessados pelo assunto. / Introduction: Cochrane’s mission is to provide decision making related to health based in evidences of high quality productions, known as systematic revisions (SR). The SRs are generated by more than 31.000 cooperators, all of them non-profit-making and free of commercial rights or other conflicts of interests, from more than 120 countries. In Brazil, in January, 2014, Cochrane has approved a strategy of a comprehensive set of translations to reinforce the impact of the best available evidence in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, in order to enhance the hability to translate the contents of the reviews from English language to the language of these countries. To achieve this goal, Cochrane invited UNESP Medicine Based in Evidences, registered in CNPQ, to implement a platform of knowledge concerning the translations of the systematic revisions of Cochrane Cooperation into Portuguese Language. Objective: The aim of this research is to make the best evidences (that is, systematic revisions) in Anesthesiology and other areas of Health Sciences accessible to the Community of Portuguese Language, and to inform about the effectiveness, efficacy and safety of several treatments, besides sensibility and specificity of diagnosis tests as well. Thus enabling a better access to high quality information in these countries, and contributing to the success of Cochrane Collaboration’s mission and its strategic objectives, through an implementation of a platform scheme of knowledge. Methods: Study of operational investigation. This research project, called Health in your Language was conducted by a team comprised by all kinds of health practitioners (e.g., doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists), independent of their links to institutions, who wanted to take part voluntarily in the project, all Portuguese speakers with English writing skills. Reviews and simple language reviews (that is, plain language summary) were translated from complete systematic revisions of CC and published in the data base of Cochrane Library. The researchers, practitioners from different health areas, were responsible for translating part of the content of the systematic revisions. Results: There were made and published 298 translations of the reviews and the simple language reviews (plain language) of the systematic revisions of the cooperation groups of CC, and 107 cooperators from different institutions were filed. From these 107 cooperators, 52 of them translated effectively. Most of the translations have been made by Cochrane Anesthesiology Group (14%, n=42), followed by Stroke Group (8.3%, n=25). 76.1% of the translations in Anesthesiology were made by the students. Among this category, post-graduation students in Anesthesiology from FMB/UNESP (n=15) presented a broader contribution, compared to the post-graduation students from the other programs involved (n=6). The students of the post-graduation program in Anesthesiology from FMB/UNESP made 90 translations, and the students of post-graduation from the other programs performed a total of 19 translations. The subspecialty in Anesthesiology which presented the highest number of translations was general Anesthesiology, n=22 (52.3%). Conclusion: This study has shown that the implementation process of a platform scheme of knowledge is possible and it would make available the best evidences in Anesthesiology and other Health Science areas (that is, systematic revisions) into Portuguese Language for the Community of Portuguese Language Countries. The translations made in this area will benefit the anesthesiologists through a broad exposure of the systematic revisions published by the collaborative Anesthesiology Group of Cochrane, boosting the visibility of these studies through its propagation for the ones interested in the subject. / FAPESP: 2015/17279-3
