El objetivo central de nuestro trabajo es la descripción detallada de la re-presentación de grupos simétricos (o de permutaciones). Para tal efecto estructuramos la exposición en tres capítulos. En el primero se efectúa un estudio detallado de los grupos simétricos en cuanto a propiedades algebraicas, con énfasis en describir cómo opera en dichos grupos la relación de conjugación. En el capítulo 2 se desarrolla una teoría general de la representación lineal de grupos en espacios vectoriales. Cobran importancia las representaciones irreducibles como instrumentos que permiten construir estructuras más generales. Finalmente en el capítulo3 se desarrollan los vínculos existentes entre representaciones irreducibles de grupos simétricos y los diagramas de Young y se llega identificar cada representación irreducible con un objeto algebraico abstracto denominado módulo de Specht. / Themain objective of ourwork is the detailed description of the representation
of symmetric groups (known also as permutations). For this purpose
we organize the work in three chapters. In the first, a study is carried out
of the symmetric groups in terms of algebraic properties, with emphasis in
describing how conjugation operates within. In Chapter 2 a general theory
of linear representation of groups in vector spaces is developed. Irreducible
representations are important as instruments that allow us to build more general
structures. Finally, in Chapter 3, the existing links between irreducible
representations and Young diagrams are exposed, and it get to identify each
irreducible representationwith an abstract algebraic object called the Specht
