This bachelor thesis explores the opportunities for implementation of trust-based public management within the public sector. Previous research has shown that the process of implementation is of a highly complex nature and that the desired outcome may not be achieved. This study aims at examining the prerequisites for successful implementation of trust-based public management within Uppsala municipality. In order to fulfill this purpose, the study will utilize qualitative methods. To gather material, interviews were held with officials within the municipality and the material was analyzed through qualitative text analysis. The main findings of the thesis are that there are both more and less favorable conditions. Therefore, there are opportunities for Uppsala municipality to successfully implement trust-based public management although there are aspects that may give difficulties. This study is intended to increase the understanding of conditions for successful implementation of trust-based public management within the public sector.
