O presente trabalho tem ênfase na área dos Estudos da Tradução sob a perspectiva funcionalista de Christiane Nord (1988) e os estudos do jornalismo com Frank Esser (1998). Trabalha com quatro revistas e dois jornais: Der Spiegel, Focus, Süddeutsche (contexto alemão), Veja, Época, Folha de São Paulo (contexto brasileiro), analisando reportagens que têm como tema as eleições do Papa Bento XVI. Com ajuda das teorias de Nord e Esser, além do uso de uma ferramenta da linguística de análise de corpus, foram observados padrões linguísticos (standardized type/token ratio). Essas reportagens foram analisadas a fim de identificar possíveis marcas culturais e um provável desvio de enfoque presentes nesses textos. A existência de marcas culturais nos textos é comprovada pela escolha lexical e pela abordagem do mesmo fato noticioso / The relationship between the translation and journalism is a field of research still to be explored, but it presents a vast area for study and a strong upward trend in the scientific community, to bring you this feature intercultural strong brand in both areas. This work has an emphasis in the area of Translation Studies under the functionalist perspective of Christiane Nord (1988) and studies of journalism with Frank Esser (1998). Works with four magazines and two newspapers: Der Spiegel, Focus, Sueddeutsche (German context), Veja, Época, Folha de Sao Paulo (Brazilian context), analyzing reports that focus on the election of Pope Benedict XVI. With the help of the theories of Nord and Esser, and the use of a tool for the analysis of corpus linguistics, linguistic patterns were observed (standardized type / token ratio). These reports were analyzed to identify possible cultural marks and diversions of focus present in these texts. The existence of cultural marks in the texts is evidenced by the lexical choice and by approach of the same news
