Previous issue date: 2016 / A rede urbana articula as cidades através das suas funcionalidades e seus níveis de centralidade, pela compreensão da produção, circulação e comercialização das mercadorias. A proposta desse trabalho é refletir sobre a rede urbana do Extremo Oeste Catarinense considerando sua história e economia, sua inserção e divisão do trabalho. É a partir de sua história que consegue-se entender a formação do território atual, através do movimento dos núcleos colonizadores e a região de fronteira do Extremo Oeste e a Argentina. Para conseguir analisar a rede urbana no seu caráter local, buscou-se entender o Extrato superior da rede, ou seja, a Rede Nacional, a qual foi analisada pelo REGIC (Regiões de Influências das Cidades) e abordada nesse trabalho. A rede catarinense foi marcada por uma desintegração histórica que refletiu na formação do território e nas relações comerciais do Extremo Oeste Catarinense, sendo que a cidade de Chapecó foi a principal intercomunicadora entre a capital Florianópolis e o Oeste. Chapecó e as agroindústrias possuem grande influência no Extremo Oeste, o que motiva o seu estudo como uma cidade média. A partir de do entendimento geral busca-se identificar as polaridades e influências, possibilitando uma breve análise sobre a estrutura atual da rede no Extremo Oeste. Para isso entender os processos demográficos, as relações entre o meio rural e urbano, a formação da agroindústria, as associações de municípios, as gestões em seus níveis federais, estaduais e municipais, bem como as ligações aéreas e rodoviárias são de fundamental importância para o entendimento da estruturação da rede do Extremo Oeste Catarinense.<br> / Abstract : The urban network articulates the cities through their functionalities and their levels of centrality, through the understanding of the production, circulation and commercialization of products. The proposal of this work is to reflect on the urban network of the Far West of Santa Catarina considering its history and economy, its insertion and division of labor. It is from its history that it is possible to understand the formation of the present territory, through the movement of the colonizing nuclei and the border region of the Extreme West and Argentina. In order to be able to analyze the urban network in its local character, it was tried to understand the Superior Extract of the network, that is to say, the National Network, which was analyzed by REGIC (Regions of Influences of the cities) and approached in this work. The Santa Catarina network was marked by a historical disintegration that reflected in the formation of the territory and the commercial relations of the Far West of Santa Catarina. The city of Chapecó was the main intercommunication between the capital Florianópolis and the West. Chapecó and agroindustries have great influence in the Far West, which motivates their study as a middle city. From the general understanding it is sought to identify the polarities and influences, allowing a brief analysis on the current structure of the network in the Far West. In order to understand demographic processes, the relationships between rural and urban environments, the formation of agribusiness, associations of municipalities, management at federal, state and municipal levels, as well as air and road links are of fundamental importance for the understanding of the structure of the Far West Santa Catarina network.
