The aim of the study is to examine how Swedish newspapers portray abused men and abusing women in domestic violence. The main method used is qualitative content analysis to answer the research questions. The secondary method used is quantitative content analysis to be able to quantify categories and themes that appeared in the empirical material. The result of the study is that Swedish newspapers portray abused men and abusing women differently based on gender characteristics and power structures.
