It is a work about a social, sportive and aviation institution: Aeroclube of Rio Grande do Norte. We will study the relationships that the activities developed by the Clube had with the values of a Natal?s culture and the political project of promotion of the aviation in Rio Grande do Norte developed by its president, Juvenal Lamartine. Also, we discuss how gradually the Clube came to be referred to as an elegant and important ambience for its members and the local press. Therefore, we will approach the systemic culture conceptions presented by the anthropologist Mary Douglas; and conceptions of space and group identity presented by Maurice Halbwachs. We investigate the newspaper A Rep?blica, the magazine A Cigarra and some personal letters, within the period from 1900 to 1930, to figure how the Clube was organized "inside". How did the values of a Natal?s culture appear internally? What was the Aeroclube's relationship with the local aviation development project promoted by Juvenal Lamartine? Who were the main partners? What image did the Clube enjoy in the city?
