Tillgängligt för alla, hur gör man? : En intervjuundersökning om hur personal på vårdcentraler tänker om tillgänglighet

Background: Everyone has the right to get equal health-care but different reports show that people with disabilities do not have the same opportunity for equal treatment as others. Aim: To describe and analyze the preparedness of staff working in the private care sector to provide care on an equal footing at their healthcare center when it comes to meeting people with different disabilities. Furthermore, the purpose is to investigate what conditions are available at the health center to provide care for patients with disabilities on equal terms. Questions: What adjustments have been made in the premises, what tools are available to facilitate care and what improvements would have to be made to increase the possibility of providing care on equal terms? How does the staff have the task of providing care on equal terms in meeting patients with different disabilities? Method: The survey has been conducted in the form of semi structured interviews with descriptions in the form of vignettes. Result: Staff members generally possessed good general knowledge regarding different kinds of disabilities but there were no tools for alternative information and communication. Adequate time for the visit was important to the staff.
