Many suffer from chronic kidney diseases and it has a large impact on their day to day lives. It has a tremendous impact on their mental andphysical health and without a transplant the need for alternativemedicine is necessary, such as dialysis. It is therefore important that this treatment is performed with the users’ needs in consideration. During the last decade there has been an uprising in the use of biomimicry and nature inspired design to mitigate some of the problem that we are facing I today’s society. How can the care environment, based onscientific studies and bio-mimicry, be designed to meet the target group's needs regarding care and the environment? The project has had a strong focus on basic elements in Technical Designand used several methods to learn, understand and develop for the target group. The work has been based on literature studies, interviews, questionnaires, and workshops. The information has been analyzed and compiled into a design specification that forms the basis for the project's Idealization Phase. The final idea has been visualized through surfacemodeling and has come to life with the use of a game engine that has given a realistic insight into the final concept. The concept has resulted in a supportive, nature-inspired, culturally appropriate and ergonomic solution. This provides the target group with an environment that can have positive effects on their care as well as physical and mental states.
