Framtidens förarmiljö i eldrivna arbetsfordon med fokus på cirkulär ekonomi : En case studie av Inzile / The future car interior in electric work vehicles with a focus on circular economy : A case study of Inzile

This thesis examines how the interior of cars, on a conceptual level, can be designed in smaller electrical work vehicles that are used for deliveries, park management and property management in urban environments. The thesis focuses on how the interior can be adapted in order to fit into a circular economy where the car is leased to the customer for an extended period of time. The thesis is supported by a case from the company Inzile that want to examine how their car interior should be designed to fit into the company’s circular business model and at the same time be perceived as a user-friendly product.  The five actors whose needs and requirements impact the car interior are identified. The actors are: drivers, buyers (the employees that purchase vehicles for companies), service technicians, employees at Inzile and policymakers. Respondents from all groups except policymakers are interviewed. The interviews are analyzed, and the actors needs and requirements in relation to the car interior are identified. The identified needs are: intuitive design, a good view of the surroundings, a comfortable and adaptable drivers position, a feeling of safety, a durable interior that is easy to clean, a car that is easy to get in to and out of, a comfortable temperature, comfortable sounds in the interior, storage and an environmentally friendly car.  After the needs have been identified concepts and possible solutions are developed to create suggestions on how the interior of a small electrical work vehicle can be designed to fit into a circular business model. The concepts are based on the identified needs and the results from the interviews and the literature review. The proposed solutions focus on adapting the interior for remanufacturing, material selection and creating a modular, timeless and ergonomic design. In addition to these design proposals, it is also important that an overall concept is created where the color, shape and functions of the driver environments are clearly defined to create a car interior that remains uniform even after repairs and remanufacturing.
