Arbetsmetod för beräkning av klimatpåverkan av installationer för ombyggnadsprojekt : En fallstudie av ett ombyggnadsprojekt i ett tidigt skede med fokus på klimatpåverkan och återbruk av installationer

This master thesis aims to develop a method to calculate the climate impact of installations in buildings renovation projects. For climate impact of installation in new constructions there are standardized values available, but these are not applicable to renovations projects. This study identifies several knowledge gaps that complicates climate calculations for installations. These gaps include the lack of established methods for calculation of the climate impact of installations in renovation projects and the absence of climate data for installations. If climate data are available for installations, the data are primarily not adapted to the Swedish market.  This study develops a method based on LCA, SS - EN15978:2011, to calculate climate impact of modules A1-A5.1, applies the proposed method to a case study, Blåsippan, and examines the potential of reusing lightning fixtures. The study demonstrates that it is possible to calculate the climate impact of installations. In early phases it is beneficial to have an economic calculation as basis and use generic data. When more detailed information is available specific data should be used. The challenge lies in matching a specific product with climate data. Therefore, it is necessary to relay on generic climate data and similar environmental product declaration to perform calculations.  In the case study of Blåsippan, a university building undergoing renovation, the climate impact of new installations was calculated to 61 100 kg CO2e for A1-A5.1.  The climate impact divided on gross floor area is 9.54 kg CO2e/m2 GFA for A1-A5.1. Lightning fixtures has the highest climate impact. To decrease their climate impact, it is possible to recondition 86 lightning fixtures from Blåsippan and it is recommended to use recondition of lightnings fixtures in Blåsippan as a pilot study. According to this study, it will decrease their climate impact by 341 kg CO2e but due to the small number of lightning fixtures the reconditioning is not economically profitable.
