From the cradle to the grave. - A quantitative study on the decline in infant and child mortality in the city of Kalmar and how it differed from child mortality in the rural parts outside the city between 1800 and 1949. The study shows how social heritage and the climate played a vital role in the survival of the children in the 19th and 20th century in the city of Kalmar.
