tiveram consequências importantes na cultura e no estilo de vida da juventude ocidental. Como eco dessas transformações, a moda, que até então esteve atrelada aos modelos da altacostura e às elites socioeconômicas, passou por uma metamorfose e assumiu novos contornos. Nesse momento a moda passou a revelar mais sobre o indivíduo, mostrando sua identidade, seu gosto, sua raça, seu posicionamento político e cultural. Diante desse cenário um novo protagonista entrou em cena: o jovem. Assim, é diante deste panorama que se observou o nascimento de uma moda produzida no Brasil que se baseia em novos signos de elegância e beleza: a moda das boutiques de Ipanema. / Economic, political and social transformations under way since the 1950s have had
important consequences on the culture and lifestyle of Western youth. As an echo of these transformations, fashion, which until then was tied to couture models and socioeconomic elites, underwent a metamorphosis and took on new contours. At that moment the fashion began to reveal more about the individual, showing his identity, his taste, his race, his political and cultural position. Before this scenario a new protagonist entered the scene: the young. Thus, it is in front of this panorama that the birth of a fashion produced in Brazil is observed that is based on new signs of elegance and beauty: the fashion of the boutiques of Ipanema.
