La tesis “Identificación del Burnout asociado a profesiones sanitarias y del retail” ha sido el
resultado del trabajo de investigación iniciando en el 2002, con el propósito de llevar a cabo
investigaciones en el ámbito de la salud y calidad de vida en el trabajo. A lo largo de casi una
década fui orientando mi actividad investigadora en esta dirección, combinando distintas
actividades de investigación (estudio y análisis, publicación de artículos y asistencia a eventos
científicos). A partir del 2009 me enfoqué en el estudio de los riesgos psicosociales en otros
colectivos de profesionales, relacionados también con el sector servicios, pero desde una
vertiente más comercial. Desde el 2012, junto con el grupo de investigación Petro-Vipat de la
Facultad de Psicología de la UAB, la investigación se ha ido focalizando en el sector del
comercio o retail (tal como se conoce a nivel internacional).
Esta tesis recoge el trabajo de investigación realizado a lo largo de más de una década en el
ámbito de la salud laboral. Inicialmente, desde la perspectiva de los riesgos psicosociales y, más
adelante desde la vertiente de la Psicología Positiva, centrándose en la vertiente de la
Psicología positiva, centrándose en destacar los factores protectores y/o que generan
"engagement". La investigación ha abordado distintos colectivos profesionales relacionados con
el trato a las personas desde una orientación más asistencial (en la primera fase) o comercial (en
esta segunda etapa).
Los principales resultados de los trabajos que forman la tesis doctoral profundizan sobre algunas
de las cuestiones-clave de la literatura científica sobre el tema: ¿cómo se puede conceptualizar
el burnout?, ¿en qué medida las dimensiones del burnout están interrelacionadas entre ellas?.
Espero que en el futuro, este trabajo promueva una nueva comprensión del fenómeno del
burnout en las empresas y que contribuya a construir entornos de trabajo más saludables. / The thesis "Burnout identification associated with health professions and retail" was the result of
research work starting in 2002, for the purpose of conducting research in the field of health and
quality of life at work. Throughout nearly a decade I was focusing my research in this field,
combining different research activities (study and analysis, publishing articles and attending
scientific events). Since 2009 I focused on the study of psychosocial risks in other groups of
professionals, also related to the service sector, but from a more commercial side. Since 2012,
together with the research group Petro-vipat of the Faculty of Psychology of the UAB, research
has been focusing on the retail trade sector or (as it is known internationally).
This thesis contains the research work carried out over more than a decade in the field of
occupational health. Initially, from the perspective of psychosocial risks, and later from the aspect
of Positive Psychology, focusing on the aspect of positive psychology. The key field was to
highlight the protective and / or generate "engagement" factors. Research has addressed various
professional groups related to the treatment of people from a more commercially oriented care
(first phase) or (in the second stage).
The main results of the thesis deepens on some of the key issues in the scientific literature about
how can conceptualize burnout? or what extent the dimensions of burnout are interrelated
between them?. I hope that in the future, this work promotes a new understanding of the
phenomenon of burnout in enterprises and contribute to building healthier work environments.
