Det digitala företeget : En fallstudie om kommunikation, sammanhållning och kunskapsdelning på ett digitalt IT-konslutföretag

Digital workplaces are more relevant today than ever before. The digitization has provided organizations with a number of possibilities, and eliminates the geographical limitations that previously has existed. But digital organizations stand before challenges that differ from traditional organizations, which is based on the fact that a lot of the physical communication is lost. To ensure an effective cooperation, digital organizations require a well-functioning communication. This study therefore aims to establish a deeper understanding and insight of the challenges and possibilities regarding communication within a digital organization, as well as the effects it has on knowledge sharing and cohesion. The method used to answer our thesis is a case study, where we have conducted semi structural interviews together with observations. This resulted in a number of interesting findings, where it became clear that digital organizations face both obstacles and opportunities when it comes to communication. The conclusions that we established through this study are that it is harder to support a natural knowledge sharing and cohesion within the organization when the majority of the informal communication is non-existent. However, due to the fact that the communication is often work-related, the communication often is perceived as clear and comprehensible by the employees. Organizations have since Covid-19 been forced to readjust to teleworking, which has led to the insight that companies no longer need to be physically bound. This creates opportunities for both employees and organizations to operate their work under other prerequisites.
