As of today, the global COVID-19 pandemic has made a significant impact on how businesses need to adapt to dispersed teams working remote, often in home environment. Studies of the effects on how to communicate efficiently in this setting are limited and addresses remote work as a phenomenon occurring in team collaboration, but not as the de facto standard as in dispersed teams. This paper addresses the challenges of how to communicate within the agile methodology and how business adapted to remote work. A qualitative study based on earlier research was conducted where three main categories of challenges were discovered and later discussed: conversion to remote work, adaption of the agile approach and team development at a distance. The study concludes with different approaches to communication within the agile methodology depending on business culture.
