Previous issue date: 2013-12-17 / This quantitative and qualitative study, descriptive convergent examined the vision of teachers and students, the College Application UFRGS/Porto Alegre, on the (un)serialization structural proposal for Physical Education (PE) school in High School directed to diversity which aims to bring students from physical and sporting practices, envisioning a healthier life. First, 176 students aged 14 to 18 years, answered a questionnaire about the Student Wellness at PE. To access the opinion of the study participants on the new model implemented was interviewed 7 PE teachers and constituted a focus group with 14 students, which interviewed 138 colleagues of High School. To complement the dialogue issued and practical reality were observed PE classes, records of absences and composition of classes in field diaries of teachers. The statistical analysis showed that students felt well-being in the new model, as assessed positively Learning Environment PE (M= 4.04, SD= 0.69) and Basic Psychological Needs in PE (M= 3.83, SD= 0.58), with high level of motivation, which can increase the grip on their practices. The content analysis of the speeches, from interviews and focus groups revealed that students and teachers consider that the (un) serialization is appropriate because it contributed, among other categories, with the dimensions of the category Health Aspects (physical, social , psychological and spiritual), with the involvement of students, Aspects of Participation, with the development of Knowledge Aspects of diverse or complex and the elements of the Personal Aspects, making the process of singular formation. It was found that by respecting the maturation, learning levels and interests of students chances of success increase in the educational process, as reduced by more than 50% the number of faults in PE and 97% of students (n= 138) and 100% of teachers (n= 7) reported positive experiences in the new format. Therefore possibilities of choice offered in this universe (un)series, made possible the transition of students looking for an approximation of their internal needs, bringing them harmony, balance and motivation. This new proposal, with a unique look, provided opportunity different trajectories within a common goal, the formation of human being, guided by education and overall health. However, the proposal by itself does not guarantee that purpose. New norms, the intention of managers, teachers and students, and the continuity of other findings may also promote healthy elements.
