När en elev övergår från en skolform till en annan skolform ska den avlämnade skolenheten skyndsamt överlämna den dokumentation som underlättar och gynnar elevens fortsatta lärande. Övergången från grundskolan till gymnasieskolan är komplex som visar på behov avsamarbete, tydliga rutiner och en innehållsrik dokumentation. Viktig information behöver överföras för att säkerställa att elever i behov av stöd fortsättningsvis får de förutsättningar eleven har rätt till. Studien syftar till att undersöka hur kommuner organiserar överlämningen från grundskolan till gymnasieskolan på huvudmannanivå. Forskningen är av kvalitativ karaktär där semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts med representanter från kommunerna i studien. Som komplement till intervjuerna har kommunernas riktlinjer och rutiner bearbetats och använts i forskningen. Tidigare forskning, empiriskt underlag från intervjuer och kompletterande material har analyserats utifrån ett systemteoretiskt perspektiv med stöd av tematisk analys. Elever i behov av stöd är extra sårbara vid skolövergångar. Studien visar att överlämningsprocessen är viktig då den åskådliggör kontexten runt eleven och bistår mottagande skola att knyta an till ett unisont förhållningssätt och gemensamt samverkanssystem. Vidare framkommer att överlämningsprocessen mellan grundskolan och gymnasieskolan kan fungera som samverkan mellan olika skolformer och professioner som strävar mot samma mål för eleven. Utvecklingsområden som framkommer i studien är överlämningen mellan kommunala och fristående skolor samt att det finns ett behov av att dokumentationen följer eleven oavsett när eller hur många gånger en elev byter skola. Konklusionen i studien är att det finns ett behov och önskemål att generera en tydlig och effektiv process utifrån eleven förutsättningar och fortsatta progression. När elever är involverade i överlämningsprocessen och dokumentationens innehåll visar det på attövergången upplevs framgångsrik. / When a student transfers from one school form to another school form, the hand over school unit must promptly submit the documentation that facilitates and benefits the student's learning. The transition from primary school to Upper Secondary School is complex and shows the need for cooperation, distinct routines and relevant documentation. Crucial information needs to be transferred to ensure that special education needs students continue to receive the support the students are entitled to. The study aims to investigate how municipalities organize the handover from primary schools to high schools at an organisational level. The research is of a qualitative nature and semi-structured interviews were conducted with representatives from the municipalities in the study. In addition to the interviews, the municipalities' guidelines and routines have been processed and used in research. Previous research, empirical data from interviews and additional material have been analyzed from a System theory perspective with the support of a Thematic analysis. Students in need of special education are particularly vulnerable during school transitions. The study shows that the handover process is important as it shows the context around the student and assists receiving school to connect to a unison approach and common collaboration system. Furthermore, it appears that the handover process between primary school and Upper Secondary School can function as a collaboration between different school forms and professions which strives for the same goal for the student. Development areas that emerge in the study are the transfer between comprehensive and independent schools and that there is a need for the documentation to follow the student regardless of when or how many times a student changes school. The conclusion of the study is that there is a need and desire to generate a clear and effective process based on student conditions and continued progression. When students are involved in the handover process and the content of the documentation it shows that the transition is experienced as successful.
