The world’s need for energy increases every day while the high use of energy causes environmental issues and the energy prices are expected to raise. Instead of finding new energy sources the population should try to lower the use of energy to minimize for example the global warming. At the same time the society is getting more digital and the use of big data, data generated by users of different services, is getting more popular. On daily basis humans are using lots of devices that use energy to function and data is created for that use. It is for example easy to see when a person is awake or asleep by studying the use of energy. This thesis concerns how this energy data can create value with digital energy services for four potential user segment; real estates, industries, chain stores and municipalities. The thesis also examines what services that suits the segments and which segment that are most likely to adopt energy services the best. The segments that are best suited seem to be chain stores and municipalities. These segments are valuing energy services highly and are in need for big and complex services to make their energy work more efficient.
