This study is based on results from a qualitative interview study of five municipalities in Sweden that have a successful work with sustainable meals in the municipal school. The aim of the study is to identify what the interviewees and research consider to be success factors for sustainability work. The results of the study show that there is a consensus between the research and the interviewees’ experiences about what are success factors. Competence development, communication, politics and organizational structure are the most common element identified that can either contribute to a successful or unsuccessful sustainability work.
