Previous issue date: 2010-02-24 / This research addresses the process of construction of identity of the teacher, the research problem lies in knowing what is the social representation that future teachers have of their profession and how their professional identity has been built from the training courses offered in Courses of Pedagogy. Our methodology is based on a qualitative approach of research, using techniques such as data collection on semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, while considering the context of initial training of those professionals seeking to understand critically the social representation of future teachers with regard to the construction of their identity. The research is based on theoretical studies, such as: Arroyo (2009); Saviani (2008), Moscovici (2007), Freitas (2002); N?voa (1992), among others. The study's subjects students entering and graduating are involved in the process of initial formation of the pedagogy course of a State University in the State of Sao Paulo. In analyzing the data built three categories: conception of education, conception of educator and preparation for the profession, theoretical-practical articulation. Discussing the results obtained in this study, we observed that the speech of subjects reveals the historical contradictions of Pedagogy Course with regard to reconstruction to the social representation that future teachers have of themselves and their profession, it is observed even if the initial formation promoved importants reflections on the process of construction of identity. / Esta pesquisa aborda o processo de constru??o da identidade do pedagogo, cujo problema de investiga??o situa-se em conhecer qual a representa??o social que os futuros pedagogos t?m da profiss?o e como sua identidade profissional tem sido constru?da a partir da forma??o oferecida nos cursos de Pedagogia. Nossa metodologia ? pautada em uma abordagem qualitativa de pesquisa, utilizando como t?cnicas de coleta de dados a entrevista semiestruturada e a aplica??o de question?rio, tendo sempre em vista o contexto formativo da forma??o inicial deste profissional, na busca por compreender criticamente a representa??o social dos futuros pedagogos no que se refere ? constru??o de sua identidade. A pesquisa tem como fundamento os estudos de te?ricos, tais como: Arroyo (2009); Saviani (2008); Moscovici (2007); Freitas (2002); N?voa (1992), dentre outros. O estudo tem como sujeitos alunos ingressantes e concluintes que se encontram envolvidos nos processos de forma??o inicial do curso de Pedagogia de uma Universidade Estadual Publica no Estado de S?o Paulo. Na an?lise dos dados constru?mos tr?s categorias: concep??o de educa??o; concep??o de pedagogo e o preparo para a profiss?o; articula??o te?rico-pr?tica. Discutindo os resultados obtidos na pesquisa realizada, observamos que as falas dos sujeitos revelam as pr?prias contradi??es hist?ricas do curso de Pedagogia no que se refere ? reconstru??o da representa??o social que os futuros pedagogos t?m de si e da profiss?o, percebe-se ainda que a forma??o inicial promoveu reflex?es importantes sobre o processo de constru??o desta identidade.
