Bakgrund: Palliativ vård vilar på de fyra hörnstenarna symtomlindring, närståendestöd, teamarbete och kommunikation samt relation. Enligt Socialstyrelsen ska allmän palliativ vård kunna ges av personal med grundläggande kompetens. Undersökningar har visat att i Sverige är palliativ vård som ges på sjukhus inte lika bra som kommunal- och specialiserad palliativ vård. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelse av att vårda patienter i palliativt slutskede på vårdavdelningar, i sjukhusmiljö. Metod: Litteraturstudie baserad på 10 kvalitativa artiklar. Artiklarna är hämtade från PubMed och Cinahl. Analysen genomfördes med inspiration Fribergs femstegsmodel. Resultat: Analysen resulterade i 3 kategorier samt 10 underkategorier. Förutsättningar saknades för god palliativ vård. Att uppleva emotionella toppar och dalar. Stöd och professionalitet var viktigt. Konklusion: Litteraturstudiens resultat visar att det finns bristande förutsättningar. Palliativt erfarna sjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskor har liknande upplevelser. Det behövs mer forskning om sjuksköterskors upplevelser samt effektiviteten de palliativa utbildningarna har. / Background: Palliative care relies on the four cornerstones, symptom relief, family support, teamwork and communication as well as relationships. According to Socialstyrelsen general palliative care should be provided by healthcare workers with basic palliative care knowledge. In Sweden palliative care in hospitals is of inferior quality compared to municipal and special palliative care thus, health care workers on regular wards experience moral distress and lack of competence. Aim: Was to describe nurses’ experiences of caring for patients in the final stages of palliative care, in wards, in hospital environments. Methods: Literature review based on ten qualitative articles. The articles were sourced from PubMed and Cinahl. The analysis was conducted with inspiration from Friberg’s five-step model. Results: The results are reported in three categories and ten subcategories. The results indicate a lack of fundamental prerequisites for good palliative care. To experience emotional highs and lows. Support and professionality were important. Conclusion: The results highlight the lack of conditions which enables good palliative care. This view is shared by nurses with and without palliative competence. Further research is needed concerning nurses' experiences and the effectiveness of palliative care education.
