This study is based on a qualitative method where a survey based on dialogues with five teachers was conducted. These teachers teach students who came to Sweden during their teens. The teaching teachers were spoken to regarding their experiences of working with identity development. This was going to be a qualitative study whose starting point was to investigate the views of the respondents on the identity-developing work of late arrivals based on the perspectives and experiences through the dialogues. The purpose of the study is to investigate some teachers' views on identity-developing work with late arrivals and the study’s aim is based on four questions: How do the teachers view the students' identity development in relation to their attitudes and expectations? How do the teachers view pupils' identity development in relation to the cooperation between home and school? How do the teachers view pupils' identity development in relation to previous experiences and languages? How do the teachers view student identity development in relation to value and interculturality? The study will be based on Erik H Erikson's sociological perspective in the view of identity, which is based on the fact that we have an identity when we know who we are, are aware of how others view us and that this should be in line with how we look at ourselves.
