"Det kollektiva ansvaret" : En kvalitativ studie om statens förebyggande åtgärder mot mäns våld mot kvinnor i nära relationer. / “The Collective Responsibility” : A study on governmental measures to prevent intimate partner violence perpetrated by men towards women.

The purpose of this research is to identify possible means to improve governmental measures to prevent intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetrated by men towards women. Qualitative interviews with nine non-governmental women shelters are conducted, as well as with a specialist within the field, with the aim of responding to the research’s purpose. Furthermore, The Gender Equality Unit at The Ministry of Social Affairs respond to the findings of the interviews. The main findings of the essay identify a lack of stability and continuity relating to governmental preventive measures. The importance of education and a lack of equality are factors being brought up in particular, in regards to the study’s purpose. The findings also highlight a problematical connection between violent forms of pornography, sexual violence and inequality
