In this project, Mattias Olofsson has composed and performed music for an ensemble of varying instruments, focusing on different musical roles for the guitar. The music was presented in a concert held at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. The purpose of the project was to experiment with, and discover new sounds, techniques and and roles for himself as a guitarist. The process of choosing the form of ensemble, composing and the thoughts behind each composition is described. Problems that have appeared regarding different aspects of the rehearsals and the performance are discussed, as well as the insights these have helped produce. He also discusses problems regarding the guitar compared to other instruments. In the end, Mattias states that he has realized what skills and and areas of his guitar playing he needs to work on in order to further develop his music. He also presents ideas on how to take the music from this particular project, and further refine the ideas in it, through a recording process. /
Medverkande musiker:

Mattias Olofsson-gitarr

Nils Agnas-trummor

Uno Dvärby-kontrabas

Jesper Söderqvist-slagverk

Karl Wallmyr-trumpet

Marcus Wärnheim-altsaxofon/klarinett

Daniel Gahrton-barytonsaxofon/basklarinett
