This report presents a proposal for an improved test rig for measuring airflow and purity in connection with chainsaw development at Husqvarna AB. The study covers the concept development work from the current state to a finished concept. Currently, testing consists of two separate test rigs, and the purpose of the investigation is to enable the current two test rigs to be combined into a single test rig.Through a careful study of user requirements for the current test rigs, it became clear where thepotential for improvement was. Based on these requirements, several concepts were developedfor a common test rig, as well as different concepts for how sawdust should be fed into the rig, which was one of the major problem areas according to operators. The concepts were then weighed and compared against each other to select the concept with the best potential.
