KURSPLANEN I UNDERVISNINGEN : En studie om slöjdlärares förhållande till kursplanen

The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of which attitudes teachers in the Swedish school subject sloyd have to the revision of the curriculum and in which way the revision can reform the practical teaching in the classroom. The study deals whit questions about what sloyd teachers regard as the most important aim with the education, how they use the curriculum when they choose witch material they use as knowledge in their classroom and which practical consequences the revision of the curriculum will have in their teaching. The survey was performed through phone interviews with four sloyd teachers. Sloyd is a subject that consists primarily on doing, creating and developing handiness. The sloyd teachers had a close connection to the curriculum when they constituted their teaching and used the curriculum as a foundation of the teaching. Their most important aim with their teaching varied among the informants and consisted of pupils’ happiness and creativity as well as their belief in their own capability. The revision of the curriculum raises questions about teachers’ own space when the formulate their teaching. The teachers in the study opine that their own teaching will not have to change immense as the aim of the subject still is quite unchanged, but they will have to do some smaller changes to adapt to the reversion if it goes through legal binding.
