In today's schools there is an equality goal which means that boys and girls must be given the same opportunities and the same education and not be treated, judged, or have different demands and expectations on them because of their gender. Schools also have a responsibility to break down traditional gender patterns and allow students to develop their abilities and interests regardless of gender. Previous research has shown that this is not the case, many within the school place the blame on others. Many times, the traditional patterns of society that we take for granted are also reflected in school. The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge and perceptions of some working teachers about gender. A survey was done at a school and a qualitative research method was adopted in the form of interviews, where one of the three participating teachers was interviewed, while the other two responded in writing. The hope is that these answers and this whole research will help me in my future professional role in how to think and what tools will be needed to get an education that is as fair as possible. A survey was also conducted to see how students perceive gender. Where there were 32 students who answered this survey. In the analysis, it was concluded that geography may play a role but seems subordinate to social and personal factors. Individual teachers' interest in and knowledge of gender also plays an important role, and it is usually up to each teacher to decide to what extent he or she is willing to work towards equality goals. Currently, there are no guidelines or requirements at state and/or national level to incorporate gender and equality in teaching until someone starts paying attention to this important issue and it becomes a matter of course in all teaching.
