This report describes how a module-based seating system, Arcus, was developed through a design process. Work has been based on a brief from the company Karl Andersson & Söner and intended to create a product that could be included in the production of the company and increase its sales. The system is entirely built of wood, a renewable material that has several positive effects on humans and our living environments. It consists of sofa and bench modules that can be connected to each other. The system has straight and curved 45⁰ and 90⁰ modules. The curved modules are available in concave or convex design. The different modules provide the opportunity to customize furniture for the needs of different rooms, create shapes and control how we move and interact.
