Våldsutsatta kvinnors erfarenheter av vårdpersonals bemötande - en litteraturstudie

Background Violence against women have been a societal problem for a long time. Violence can appear in many different forms for example physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence. Lack of knowledge and time can prevent healthcare professionals from identifying violence in women. This points to a need for improvement in the care staff's treatment. The aim  The purpose of the study is to investigate the experiences of women exposed to violence in the treatment of healthcare professionals in health care. Method This work was carried out as a literature review using 10 qualitative original articles. These were identified through searches in the databases PubMed and CINAHL. The results of the articles were analyzed according to Popenoe et al (2021). Results Commonly occurring themes in the results were, among other things, that the women appreciated being asked about their exposure to violence. Many also wanted a friendly and responsive nursing staff who gave the women space and were understanding. It was also in high demand that healthcare staff would inform about different help options. Conclusion  It became clear that there was a need for improvement regarding the healthcare staff's way of responding to abused women. During the course of the work, numerous examples appeared where women exposed to violence were not identified by healthcare personnel. Furthermore, positive criticism was also portrayed when the women had met empathic care staff.
