SAMMANFATTNING Bakgrund: Teamarbete ses som god praxis inom palliativ vård och i teamet kan många yrkesprofessioner ingå. Det finns evidens för att olika fysioterapeutiska åtgärder kan ha betydelse för patienter i palliativ vård men det tycks finnas ett kunskapsglapp i forskning om fysioterapeuters och det multiprofessionella teamets erfarenheter av arbete i palliativ vård för äldre. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva fysioterapeuters och det multiprofessionella teamets erfarenheter, utifrån arbete i palliativ vård för äldre inom olika kontexter. Syftet var även att granska den metodologiska aspekten urval och urvalsprocess. Metod: Litteraturstudien hade en deskriptiv design och innehöll 18 ingående artiklar vilka hittades via databaserna PubMed och Cinahl samt utifrån manuell sökning. Resultat: Fysioterapeuter ansåg sig ha flera roller inom palliativ vård. De beskrev skillnader jämfört med traditionell rehabilitering exempelvis angående kontinuitet och skiftande perspektiv allt eftersom patienten försämras. Det multiprofessionella teamet uppgav olika definition av palliativ vård och att rätt tidpunkt för olika insatser kunde vara svår att finna. Teamen beskrev att de arbetade med en teambaserad holistisk syn. En avgörande aspekt var goda relationer och god kommunikation med både patient, närstående, team och andra vårdgivare. För de flesta av de ingående artiklarna tillämpades strategiskt urval eller strategiskt urval i kombination med exempelvis snöbollsurval. En studie tillämpade bekvämlighetsurval och för tre av studierna uppgavs inte urvalsmetod. Slutsats: Författaren slutsats är att fysioterapeuter och det multiprofessionella teamet arbetar utifrån en palliativ vårdfilosofi men det fanns olika uppfattning om definitionen av palliativ vård. En avgörande aspekt för vården var goda relationer och god kommunikation. Research has proved that different physical therapy interventions can be significant to patients who receive palliative care, however there seems to be a lack of knowledge of the experiences of physical therapists and the multiprofessional teams who work within the field of palliative care amongst the elderly. Aim: The aim was to describe the experiences of physical therapists and of the multiprofessional teams, working with palliative care for the elderly in different settings. Furthermore this study aimed to review the selected articles regarding the methodological aspect sample and sampling. Method: The literature study had a descriptive design and was based on18 qualitative articles found in the databases for medical research PubMed and Cinahl and based on manual search. Results: Physical therapists considered themselves having different roles within palliative care. They described differences compared to traditional rehabilitation for example in regards to continuity and changing perspectives as the patient deteriorates. The multiprofessional teams claimed different definitions of the concept of palliative care and stated that there was a difficulty finding the perfect timing for different interventions. The team members described that they worked with a team-based holistic approach. A good relation and a good communication with the patient, family, team and other caregivers were considered a decisive aspect which affected the palliative care given. For most of the selected articles a purposeful sample was applied or a purposeful sample combined with for example a snowball sample. One study applied a convenience sample and three of the studies did not state their sample. Conclusions: The conclusion is that physical therapists and the multiprofessional team apply a palliative approach but there were different perceptions about the definition of palliative care.
