The purpose with the study is to examine pre-school educator’s perceptions about how the reading environment should be organized. In the study therefore, the perceptions of the pre-school educators are examined. To seek answers to the above I have done eight qualitative interviews with a total of ten pre-school teachers with groups of mixed ages. My theoretical point of this study is the sociocultural perspective, where learning is seen as a collective act and the pre-school teacher plays a central role. The result shows that the sofa plays a central role in the reading and that at the kindergarten there is a lot of work around its reading aloud environment. It also turned out to be the educational atmosphere were similarly the pre-school teachers in the labor law did the same way in the work of reading aloud.
