262298.pdf: 18444936 bytes, checksum: 445fcd483cef0fca8bd2efccf9455bf8 (MD5) / Este trabalho trata do projeto para uma Cidade Contemporânea para 3 Milhões de Habitantes, apresentado em 1922 por Le Corbusier, e procura analisa-lo através da organização dos projetos, informações, teorias e justificativas apresentadas por Le Corbusier, bem como pela investigação de algumas de suas referências conceituais, teóricas e estéticas dentro da arquitetura, do urbanismo, das artes plásticas e do contexto social e cultural da Europa do início do século XX. Finalmente, depois de aprofundada investigação teórica sobre este projeto, propõe-se a construir virtualmente, utilizando técnicas de modelagem e renderização eletrônicas, esta cidade-modelo não executada fisicamente, a fim de aprofundar as possibilidades de sua experimentação e compreensão. Apesar de ter sido publicada em livro - Urbanisme (LE CORBUSIER, 2000) - o projeto da Cidade Contemporânia para 3 Milhões de Habitantes não é absolutamente claro em todos os seus aspectos, características e detalhamento de execução. De fato, sendo a principal preocupação de Le Corbusier, ao apresentar o projeto desta cidade-modelo, o fornecimento de diretrizes para o urbanismo moderno e para intervenções em cidades existentes, dedicou-se mais em deduzir, justificar e defender esses princípios do que em aprofundar alguns de seus detalhes construtivos. Por outro lado, ao longo de sua vasta obra publicada, Le Corbusier não raro faz novos comentários e fornece novos dados sobre este projeto, exigindo o percurso de boa parte de sua obra publicada para a organização dessas informações. Depois de reunidos esses dados, o trabalho procura em outros autores, artistas, arquitetos, urbanistas, referências ou influências - citadas ou não por Le Corbusier - fontes e referências que possam contribuir para a compreensão do projeto, localizando-o dentro de um período histórico e ampliando o referencial teórico que o sustenta. Além da interpretação de outros autores sobre o projeto, também investiga suas relações com a obra pictórica de Le Corbusier que, sob seu verdadeiro nome, Jeanneret, participou do movimento purista, vanguarda artística pós-cubista responsável pela edição da revista de arte e arquitetura L'Esprit Nouveau. Por fim, a produção de perspectivas eletrônicas da Cidade Contemporânea para 3 Milhões de Habitantes procura fornecer alternativas possibilidades de pesquisa e interpretação do projeto. Neste caso, como se trata de um projeto não construído, a modelagem virtual pode avançar, em algum grau, a visualização da composição de seu espaço, tão cuidadosamente trabalhado por Le Corbusier, permitindo perceber com mais clareza de que forma o arquiteto organiza tridimensionalmente sua cidade.
This piece of work is about the project "A contemporary city for 3 million inhabitants", presented in 1922 by Le Corbusier, and tries to analyze it through the organization of the projects, pieces of information, theories and justifications presented by Le Corbusier, as well through the investigation of some of his conceptual, theoretical and esthetical references in the architecture, urbanism, plastic arts and the social and cultural context in Europe, during the beginning of the Twentieth century. Finally, after a deep theoretical investigation on this project, we propose a virtual construction, using molding and electronic rendering techniques. This so called city-model is not physically executed, in order to get deep in the possibilities of its experimentation and comprehension. Although it was published in a book - Urbanisme (LE CORBUSIER, 2000) - the project of "A contemporary city for 3 million inhabitants" is not absolutely clear in all its aspects, characteristics and execution details. In fact, Le Corbusier's main worry to present this project was, more than in its execution, the definition of the principles for the modern urbanism, dedicating himself, more to deduce and justify these guidelines than to study deeply its constructive details. By the other hand, in his vast published workmanship, Le Corbusier, not rarely, makes new comments and gives new data about this project, demanding the trajectory of good part of his work to the organization of these pieces of information.
After we have got all this data together, this piece of work tries to find in other authors, artists, architects and planners, references and influences - mentioned or not by Le Corbusier - which may contribute to the project comprehension, putting it inside the historical period and amplifying the theoretical referential which sustains it. Besides the interpretation of other author over the project, it also investigates its relation with the pictorial workmanship of Le Corbusier who, with his real name, Jeanneret, took part in the Purist Movement, a post-cubist artistic vanguard, responsible for the edition of the architecture magazine called L'Esprit Nouveau. Concluding, the production of electronical perspectives of the "A contemporary city for 3 million inhabitants" tries to give an alternative of research and interpretation of the project. In this case, as it is not a concluded project, the virtual molding can go forward, in some degree, a composition view of its space, worked so carefully by Le Corbusier, letting us realize clearer the way the architect organizes his/her city three-dimensionally.
