Bakgrund: Våren 2020 kom covid-19 viruset och blev snabbt en världsomfattande pandemi. Sjukvården i landet ställdes inför stora utmaningar, sjukhusen fick ställa om och ställa in planerad vård. Behovet av intensivvårdsplatser ökade och personal fick förflyttas till verksamheter de aldrig tidigare arbetat inom. Syfte: Att undersöka operationssjuksköterskors upplevelser av att bli utlånad till annan avdelning under covid -19 pandemin. Metod: Kvalitativ innehållsanalys med induktiv ansats av kvalitativa intervjuer som gjorts med operationssjuksköterskor som varit utlånade till annan avdelning under covid-19 pandemin. Resultat: Informanterna upplevde en brist på information när de fick reda på att de skulle bli förflyttade till annan avdelning vilket resulterade i en känsla av frustration och ilska. Att vårda svårt sjuka patienter och känna en osäkerhet och brist på kunskap är upplevda känslor som informanterna beskrev i studien. Informanterna har upplevt allt från ilska och frustration till att känna att de bidragit med erfarenheter, lärt sig nya saker och upplevt personlig utveckling. Slutsats: En specialistutbildad operationssjuksköterska kan inte ersätta en annan specialistsjuksköterska då kompetensområdena är olika. Däremot kan de vara behjälpliga i vården av svårt sjuka patienter. / Background: In the spring of 2020, the covid-19 virus came and quickly became a worldwide pandemic. Healthcare in the country was faced with major challenges, the hospitals had to adjust and cancel planned care. The need for intensive care units increased and staff had to be transferred to activities they had never worked in before. Aim: To investigate surgical nurses' experiences of being loaned to another ward during the covid -19 pandemic. Method: Qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach to qualitative interviews conducted with surgical nurses who have been seconded to another ward during the covid-19 pandemic. Results: The informants experienced a lack of information when they found out that they would be transferred to another department, which resulted in a feeling of frustration and anger. Caring for seriously ill patients and feeling insecure and lack of knowledge are perceived emotions that the informants described in the study. The informants have experienced everything from anger and frustration to feeling that they have contributed with experiences, learned new things and experienced personal development. Conclusion:A specialist-trained surgical nurse cannot replace another specialist nurse as the areas of competence are different. However, they can be helpful in the care of seriously ill patients.
