Konceptframtagning av ett automatiserat rengöringssystem till solcellspanel / Concept development of an automated cleaning system for solarpanel

The use of solar panels is in a continuous increase as more efforts are made to use renewable energy sources. Solar panels are exposed to, among other things, dust particles and leaves, which leads to a reduction in the efficiency of solar cells. To maintain the efficiency of solar cells, they need to be cleaned. The purpose of the work is to maintain the efficiency of the solar panel. The goal of this work is to develop a ready-made concept for an automated robot for cleaning a solar panel. To improve the process of construction of concepts, modeled in 3D with analysis of final elements, evaluation of materials, analysis of final elements, preparation of prototypes and labeling of prototypes and samples. Material selection for the stands was made with the help of Granta Edupack where limitations and goals were defined. The finite element method (FEM) was applied in pairs to examine the displacment and bending stress of the stands. In order to ensure that the results produced with the help of FEM are reasonable, validation was done by hand calculation. A simplified prototype was manufactured and tested to ensure that the concept fulfilled its function. The work resulted in a complete concept for an automated cleaning robot rushing a solar panel. The robot cleans the solar panel with a brush and is powered by four wheels, two of which are motor-controlled. The robot runs on two ground-mounted stands.
