The representation of women in sportsmedia is still lacking in 2023. Studies finds that women and men are not represented in the same way in social media and the change to more equal media coverage is slow. The purpose of this study is to examine Fotbollskanalen’s Instagram to see similarities and differences in the framing of women's and men's soccer. Thus, the study aims to contribute and problematize the media and its responsibility for truthful coverage of the media landscape of sports. Through a quantitative content analysis the study analyzed 1576 Instagram posts published by Fotbollskanalen in 2022, from January 1 to December 31. The study places great emphasis on the theory of framing, gender theory, representation and gender stereotyping. This study is based on the assumptions of these theories. The results of the study shows that women appear in approximately one out of ten posts, they were more likely to be portrayed passively and the posts generally had a more positive tone. The study finds that men and women in sports are portrayed differently on Fotbollskanalen's Instagram.
