Stödboende, hur går det till och vad händer där? : En kvalitativ studie om hur socialarbetare på stödboenden arbetar främjande utifrån relationsskapande och delaktighet / Supported accommodation, how does it work and what happens there? : - A qualitative study on how social workers in supported accommodation work conducive based on relationship building and participation

Due to the high asylum immigration in 2015, Sweden's municipalities became in need of more varied forms of placement. As a result of this, the new placement supported accommodation was founded in 2016. Since the placement form is a new form of placement, there are few studies dedicated to the area. The purpose of this study is consequently to investigate this form of placement. This will be done through qualitative interviews. The questions that will be asked to have their basis in the purpose of the study, we have the aim to study and investigate the concepts of relationship building and participation. We have done eight semi-structured interviews with the aim of getting answers to the study's three questions. From the results of the study, it appears that relationship building as well as participation are two important components for the work in supported accommodation. The interviewees highlight interesting examples of when the concepts are applied and what significant factor they have on the young person. They also address how the social worker should relate to the young person and what impact the social worker's approach has on the young person. The result is analyzed based on the study's theoretical starting points, the relational perspective and Hart's participation model. The theoretical starting points creates interesting perspectives. The perspectives also create understanding for possible approaches to the dilemmas expressed by social workers. The results also describe the obstacles we discovered within the perspectives. Obstacles and opportunities are consistently named and explained in this study. The concepts of obstacle and opportunity are often tied to the situation and the person. Accordingly, the concepts are explained carefully throughout the course of the study. In summary, it appears in the study that relationship building, and participation form a highly significant basis for the social work with children and young people in supported accommodation.
