The aim of this paper is to approach museum’s organization and the construction of cultural heritage from the perspective of the museum employees. Museums are institutions for knowledge and power in society, and the position as a museum employee thus comes with both authority and responsibility. At the same time, external circumstances (eg. budget cuts and politics) means that it is not always easy to live up to these expectations and this paper examines how this shape the experience of the profession.
