Previous issue date: 2009 / Resumo: A doença falciforme é a doença hereditária monogênica mais comum do Brasil e, embora tratável, ainda é incurável. O tratamento precoce aumenta a sobrevivência das crianças afetadas e melhora a sua qualidade de vida, contudo a problemática que envolve o conviver com uma doença crônica está sempre presente. Trata-se de um estudo fenomenológico cuja proposta foi compreender o sendo-com a criança com doença falciforme na perspectiva da mãe. Foram entrevistadas 12 mães de crianças com doença falciforme diagnosticadas na triagem neonatal, em seguimento no Centro Infantil Boldrini há pelo menos um ano. As entrevistas abertas foram realizadas no domicílio das mães e tiveram a seguinte questão norteadora: "conte-me como está sendo conviver com o seu(sua) filho(a) e a doença falciforme". As entrevistas foram gravadas em fita K7 e, posteriormente, transcritas na íntegra. A fim de compreender o significado do ser-mãe de criança com doença falciforme, os discursos maternos foram analisados à luz dos passos de Giorgi (1985) e Martins & Bicudo (2004). O fenômeno se desvelou em três categorias temáticas: a doença tornando-se presente no cotidiano das mães, sendo-com o outro na dor e descortinando um novo universo. Este estudo possibilitou a compreensão de algumas facetas do ser-mãe de uma criança com doença falciforme e o vislumbrar de diversas perspectivas para um novo cuidar. Entretanto, o fenômeno é infinito e sempre repleto de novas possibilidades. Espero que este estudo, sensibilize e revele que o cuidar autêntico é possível e essencial / Abstract: The sickle cell disease is more common monogenic hereditary illness of Brazil and, even so treatable, still it is incurable. The precocious treatment increases the survival of the affected children and improves its quality of life, however, the problematic one that it involves coexisting a chronic illness is always present. One is about a phenomenological study whose proposal was to understand be-with the child with sickle cell disease in the perspective of the mother. Twelve mothers of children with sickle cell disease diagnosed in the neonatal screening had been interviewed, in follow up at Centro Infantil Boldrini for at least one year. The open interviews had been carried through in the domicile of the mothers and had had the following question: "it counts to me as it is being to live with your child and the sickle cell disease". The interviews had been recorded in K7 ribbon and, later, transcribing in the complete one. In order to understand the meaning of the be-mother of child with sickle cell disease, the maternal speeches had been analyzed to the light of the steps of Giorgi (1985) and Martins & Bicudo (2004). The phenomenon disclose itself in three thematic categories: the illness becoming present in the diary life of the mothers, disclosing a new universe and be-with the other in pain. This study became possible the understanding of the some face of bemother of a child with sickle cell disease and glimpsing of diverse perspectives for a new to take care of. However, the phenomenon is infinite and always full of new possibilities.
