This essay will go through how the climate crisis affects us and what the Church of Sweden can do for people suffering from climate anxiety. It will especially focus on the diaconal work that the Church of Sweden provides and how the bishops acknowledge the correlation between diaconal work and climate anxiety. By reading the Bishops letters I will argue that the Church of Sweden have a great responsibility to act for climate justice and help people with climate anxiety. I will also use self-help books and academic research as complement to The Bishops letters. The thesis that I am working with is that the Church of Sweden have possibilities and resources to work with people suffering from climate anxiety but does not use these resources well enough. The question that rises is where the responsibility of the Church of Sweden starts and ends based on peoples needs. In my conclusion I will argue that the Church of Sweden have great possibilities and a big responsibility to help people suffering from climate anxiety but does not use its resources at its best abilities. It is also a question whether the Church of Sweden uses its therapeutical resources at best to help people suffering from climate anxiety, especially because its one of few resources that does not involve social or economical differences in consideration but instead is available for all. Nyckelord: klimatångest, själavård, ansvar, diakoni.
