Demokrati och barns rättigheter : En studie om barns delaktighet och möjlighet till inflytande i förskolans verksamhet. Utifrån ett barns perspektiv / : A study of the children and their involvement and opportunity to participate in the activity structure of the preschool.  From a child's perspective.

The purpose of this study was to make visible whether the children are given the opportunity to affect their activities and environment of the preschool. Are their thoughts and reflections taken into consideration? Is it at all possible to give the children the opportunity to affect their environment and educational activities on the preschool? The focus in this study has been put on two issues in specific:  What opportunities do the older children (3-5 yrs) have to influence on the activities offered/given in the so called " free play"? What opportunities do the older children (3-5 yrs) have to affect the environment in which the "free play" is taking place? The methods used for this study are non-participating/unstructured observations and semi structured interviews. The reason for choosing these two methods of my study was because I believe they complement each other and help strengthen the results of the study as well as its liability. The results shows the complexity and uncertainty of describing the actual opportunity given the child to influence on the activities, from a child's perspective. There are many contributing factors whether the children in fact should be given these opportunities. The children do not use the term 'influence' themselves, when asked. They refer to who is in charge of the preschool.
